My 2015 hunting bow
« on: September 17, 2015, 06:19:58 pm »
This will be my 1st year hunting and i felt the need to make another....not that i need a reason ;). This one are sister billets and came from some nasty dead standing. 64 ntn, low 50's at 26/27. Horn overlays with round leather lace wrap handle. A mixture of acatone and black dye for finish with parafin oil make up the finish.Been shooting this one and i have 5 arrows that fly perfect out of it. Really looking forward to hanging with some of my primitive buddies in the woods this winter! Thanks for looking

Made the choice eh'? I like it. It has all a hunting bow needs to be a hunting bow.
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.

Yup this is #1 and a hornbeam #2. Unless they blow up. I am shooting it very well at the moment. If I truly want to say I'm ready I can't be shooting all these random bows like i usually do

Good lookin' weapon, Paul.
Did ya cut in a wee shelf or is arrow support totally built out?
Best of luck in the game pursuit!

Good eye, I figured someone would call me out on that. I cut a  a quarter into the bow and built up the other  with leather

Yep, no call-out from this corner. Like it!

Hey Mike .......I didn't mean anything by it ....just in general if your trying to make a good shooting bow with a wide range of arrows... the closer to center shot the better chance you have to get that arrow shooting good from it.  That's why I make a lot of bow as close to center shot as possible with my self arrows......
