Rich, you are so right.  I have some other Ipe that doesn't even hold a candle to this wood from Bob.  It is still strong, but not the same thing.  The other stuff came together, but there is a huge difference even in it.  Justin

Great looing piece of work, I like the grain and the color of the wood. as usual tiller looks excellent, any special reason you chose the pin nocks? I like them.

VB, I wanted to eliminate any extra weight and go with something simple not extravegant on such a simple bow.  I think that pin nocks are about as light and simple looking as you can get. Justin

OK Steve, I finally got a couple of arrows made that are 500 gr so I could get a speed.  191 fps

Justin, that would put you within shooting distance of the current world record, helf by Jerimia, You would possibly need to draw it back about another 1" to hit 270 yards but I think as it stands right now at 191 fps with just a light favorable breeze you would hit about 260 to 270. Excelent bow. Goes to show that a 65# bow can compete against 80# bows. Steve

Steve, my arrows are plenty long to draw farther, I just didn't want it to take set.  I could probably get away with pulling it to 30-31" once or twice without much harm.  Maybe I better try it. Justin
