Mountain
« on: May 28, 2015, 02:40:29 pm »
All this talk about music in the "Bows" forum got me remembering. I'm sure I remember hearing "Hall of the Mountain King" by The group "Mountain". I went looking for it on the net and I can't find any mention of it. Am I imagining or did they actually do a version?

Ever been to a TSO show Kevin? Most impressive "show" I've ever seen. Incredibly musical members, every single one of them. Then add the acrobatics to the gig and it grabs ya' by the you know what's.

The only ones I know that have the word "Mountain" in the title are:

Crash Kings - Mountain Man
Rainbow - Man on the Silver Mountain

Well, the only good ones anyway...

Yeah. I'm thinking I was mistaken. I went to Mountains website and looked through their discography, no HOTMK. I was in a bar when I heard it, could have been anyone. I remember it being real heavy, probably 70's or 80's. Just my imagination or I may have dreamed it. Whatever.

Lol you have the correct info from me and  bow101.
Your bar memory has the correct year.
There was a more recent remake.

I think the Eric Burdon / Animals song was "Spill The Wine". It had a line about the Hall of the Mountain King in it.

My mistake, it was War not the Animals w/ Eric Burdon. Ol' Eric got around back in the day!

Nope. It was heavier, a real grinder. Thanks though. When I played the Who, farther down the list was Mannheim Steamroller. It wasn't that one either. Must have been a herb induced dream.
