My first handmade leather quiver

Hi all,

Finalized my first full leather handmade quiver today. Is about 23" long and easily holds up to about 18 arrows. Made from cowhide, tanned in 2 colors for contrast pieces sown on top and bottom.
On the top I did a double lace wrap, which came out nice. The strap was made from the same piece of leather, though the strap was laminated with kangaroo leather on the rough side of the cowhide. After colouring, I applied a Resolene protective finish to waterproof the leather and buffed the leather to a nice semi-matte shine.
Behind the cross stitching on the inside of the quiver I applied an extra strip of leather to strengthen the joining of the two leather sides.

I'm really satisfied with out how this came out. I spend about 40$ on leather, and about 15$ on lacing material, needles and two hole punches that I did not have. Anyway, it's not the price that counts; for me it's the pleasure and satisfaction of having this made with my own hands. After making bows and arrows, I think I've discovered a new addiction in leather work!

That's a really good job for your first foray into leather.  Needing a quiver is what got me into leather.  Whatever you do don't get the Encyclopedia of Rawhide and Leather Braiding  >:D.  You do and you're gonna never have free time again.
