finished 39" bow
« on: February 03, 2008, 07:48:28 pm »
here is my new bow. it is 38" ntn and 39" overall.  It is made from scrap oak from my other bow i am working on, and is backed with brown paper bags.

this was a fun project even though i will probably never be able to hit anything with it and it is scary to shoot it was still fun.

It pull 30# @ 16"

Enjoy!

You  know? I'm more impressed with shorter bows than big ol' longbows. Pretty tough to make one that won't snap. 16" is pretty forgiving though. Gotcha bookmarked for Feb Self Bow of the Month.

Thanks.

I pulled it to 17 when i was tilerring and a splinter rose so i just pull it to 16 now and it still hlods up fine.

I am going to turn this in as a school project.  we had to do a recycling project so i did this. I know i dont have a shot at that because i dint use many recyclables but who cares it was a blast to build.

Yes i know a youngster. I will offer it to my little sister  and if she doesnt want it i am going to offer it to my cousin.

Cool little bow, David. Kind of a "pistol" bow-You could carry it as a sidearm to complement your longbow.  :) I bet it would be amazing the damage that that little sucker would do, though. The tiller looks great.

This baby has super flat trajectory and shoots over 60 yards and it wasnt even pulled all the way back! so i bet it would shoot close to 80
