Nice looking bow.  I've never had problems with small tears on the back, as long as they don't go through to the next ring

Great job on that one Chris,  You would never know it was your first Grumley style.

That came out looking awesome.  Very cool finish on the rawhide.

That is a sweet bow. That pattern in the rawhide looks real nice on there. Only going to look better and better as that yeller wood darkens.
Looks like a true Grumley.  8) Gotta love brush nocks...No more "what-a-minute bushes" or "where-do-you-think yer going brambles"  :)

Just what I'd expect of you! You have to give that thing a good run in Grayling this fall just for the nostalgia.

It turned out great!  I agree the backing looks really cool.
Talking trees. What do trees have to talk about, hmm... except the consistency of squirrel droppings?

Thanks again guys!

I should have mentioned. I wiped two coats of shellac on, then followed it up with four coats of Helmsman clear satin spray. No glare at all from any angle. The shellac seemed to fill in the rawhide a bit. Im really falling in love with base coats of shellac, especially on skinned bows.

After reading the letter about your Grumley bow, I had to make of those hand shock junkers for myself... ;)
