oak arrows

Hi  am making oak arrows from plank have split with axe and draw plain down to an octagon now using a small plain. can i go down to a barrelled 11/32 with 5/16th ends or will it be to brittle. am using a bikerstaff 48lb at 28 but only draw 25.

You should be able to barrel or full length taper with no problems.

Especially if you split down your blanks instead of rip cutting and dowelling.  Plenty of strength.

cool thanks. i split two with the axe and one with a saw. only had enough for three but will keep at it.
