drawlength?

My aunts husband is maybe 6 feet tall but has a wingspan of 6 foot 3 and a half.  Can you use the wingspan ÷ 2.5 to come up with a ballpark drawlength?  If so his would be 30.2".  Not sure if this is more applicable to compound sbooters.

I think so...  I am roughly those same dimensions and draw a little over 27".
   If I am trying to figure a drawlength for folks new to selfbows, I have them put a yardstick on their breastbone and reach out as far as they can and clap their hands together on the yardstick in front of them.  I also tell them not to lock their elbows out completely straight, but to keep their arms slightly relaxed.  The measurement at the point where there middle fingers meet on the yardstick is a pretty good place to start.   The best way is to have them draw an arrow and mark the shaft at full draw at the back of the bow.

make it to 28, most can adjust to that,,, over build a bit so if he want to go 29 he can ,, if the bow is made well it will shoot good at 27 so you have anywhere from 27 to 29,, thats my guess,, 
cut the arrows to 29 at back of field time so he dont overdraw it,,
