Ok guy's, this is my first bow that I ever laid a tool to. This thing has been a work in progress for a year to date. I done some looking and found where I bought my draw knife and I remember that's the day I started this bow. And today I laced up the handle wrap and applied my last drop of super glue. It's been a long time coming and a lot of you have given me a lot of advice in several different post. I want to say thank you to all of the PA family. I want to give a special thanks to PatB, PatM, and Osage outlaw. For taking the extra time to look at my post through pm. And for taking the time in person, dvshunter, to help me out. And Mike from boarrior bows for the excellent build along.
Well enough of the mushy stuff! Here she is, my first bow.
Osage orange, given to me by my friend Grey Ghost.
62" ntn
34lbs @ 27"
Artificial sinew string. And wrap at the end of the skins.
It is backed with sinew from a doe I killed last rifle season. It also has a black snake skin that seams to have a dark blue hue to it.
The handle wrap is of unknown leather given to me by my neighbor and friend.
Strike plate is alligator scale given to me by the same neighbor.
It has 10 coats of Tru oil on it for the finish.
It shoots really nice with no hand shock. Thanks for looking, Patrick.
Full draw was taken before any finish work was done.
