Osage Orange Recurve 50#@28" 60"ntn

I had grand plans to make lots of bows this summer and this is the only one I made. Despite not being as prolific as I intended I'm quite pleased with this bow that I did manage to finish. It is
50#@28" and 60" ntn
. It's made from a beautiful piece of osage with very few flaws. The tips are sheep horn and have a very striking natural contrast to them that I really like. I thought about adding snake skins to this bow but I'm glad that I decided against it. I think it is beautiful in its simplicity. The hand wrap is leather with calf lace. The finish is eight coats of tru-oil buffed to a satin finish. The string is fastflight with nylon serving. The bow shoots fast and draws smooth. I'm really happy with how it turned out. I hope you enjoy it.

Very nice. That is a fine looking recurve Weylin. Your finishing work, braced, unbraced, full draw - all of it, is just excellent.

I sure like the looks of that. Perhaps not as prolific as you intended, however time well spent none the less! Beautiful profiles. You
should
be happy with how it turned out

Wow! I for one am glad you didn't put skins on it, that yellow color is amazing! (and the bow itself too of course)

Beautiful work man, I like the simplicity also. Those tips are looking awesome, and the curves are elegant.
