Az Hackberry Board Bow For Mackenzie
« on: October 06, 2014, 01:05:50 pm »
Here is a Hackberry board bow I made for my daughter. It is 40" long, 1.5" wide, pyramid limbs to 1/2" tips. We went out yesterday as a family to shoot and she had a blast.

Nice bow, beautiful smile (!) and interesting finger grip on that string.
did you made it? are they tied to the rope or free to roll?

Thanks.
I purchased them. They're called No-Glov Finger savers.

Nice bend on that one. She looks pretty happy, Dad!!

What a loverly lil bow!  Just 40" long ... amazing.
Yeah, the grandkids are partial to those rubber finger thingys.
Judging by smile on the daughter's face, ya did good.

Thanks guys.

I would have preferred to make her a longer bow but the 48" one I first was working on for her was difficult for her to hold and shoot in her chair, needed to go shorter. As she grows more comfortable I'll be able to move her up to a longer and better bow.

Dane, I got it at WoodCraft. It was listed as Arizona Hackberry, I'm guessing it's Net-Leaf Hackberry so a bit different than the stuff that most people on this site use. I have some more of it that I'm going to attempt a full size bow with.
