Mulberry Trade Bow...Almost
« on: October 05, 2014, 11:14:08 am »
Decided against this as a trade for 2014 cause of lower weight and I didn't like the patterns in the hide from ace wraps. This was second mulberry attempt for the trade since the first popped a splinter on the back through the silk.

I did an expirement and tempered this one with the hide already on (so far so good) and piked it a little and picked up some weight.

60" t-t.
48 @ 28
Dog bone hide.
Bison bone tips.

Now the more I look at it, the more I think it should have bent more into the handle. It is light in the hand and shoots nice though.

Thanks for lookin.
Marco

Looks pretty good but the inner portion of each limb is stiff. Try getting the bend to come into the fades more. The fades are the transition between the working limb and the rigid handle.

Hi Marco,
nice looking bow, you going to hunt with it this year?
God bless and thanks,
Tommy

I am not sure yet if I will use this one or another. I'm a little behind on being ready and I need more practice shots.

Hey Bruce, the lams seem to be working good and it is near finished. Thank you.

I like the look of that rawhide.  Cool looking bow.
Thanks, I used instant coffee pebbles on the hide and then sprayed a mist of water over them.  ;)

Thanks Pat, I may try to get em bending better.
