Score one for you on a very nice bow.  We'll check it out during January Self Bow of the Month voting if that's all right with you.

Very nice looking bow PK, I've never worked with or read about silk backing--whats the process? is it fabric or threads being ran parallel to limbs, thanks ---------------Glenn.

I buy the Silk at the Art store in sheets of 14"* 74". Just cut strips a bit longer than the Bow and 1/4" wider. I use TIte Bond 3 to attach the silk material, But only
spread glue  every 6"then continue the process using a felt pad to flatten the silk. Gotta stretch the silk a little, not to much. After the silk is down I put a layer of TB3 then another layer of silk with another top coat of TB3leveling out out the glue and making sure the silk has absorbed the glue. I use a heat gun on low to speed the drying, not to close or or long because I don't want to heat the bow. When dry, I trim the over hang of silk, Sand down at an angle to smooth the edges and remove loose fibres. thats about all there is to it.

Your method of placing the silk backing sounds interesting easy.  I'll have to give it a try.
Beautiful bow!   California needs the rain, but wouldn't be nice if we could confine the rain to say 10PM to 6 AM?   RON

Good looking bow. Bottom limb looks a liitle weaker than the top, but it may just be the pic. I like that artwork, too- very nice.
