Thanks for the nice comments guys. I was making this bow to be a loose replica of Shawn's Otzi the iceman bow. Shawn was focusing more on the tools and methods of making Otzi's bow rather than adhering strictly to the design and physical features of the ice man bow. Shawn uses all stone tools and even harvests the yew tree with a copper axe in his video.
It is nice that Shawn lives just a 30 min drive from me. We were going to do some mule deer hunting together this fall but he drew a coveted columbian whitetail muzzleloader tag, so it looks like I am on my own.
