Pearlie, I just ran across a set of osage lams(2 tapered, 2 parallel) that someone gave me a few years ago and a hickory backing strip. I guess I gotta make a Hill style bow now.
Howard probably started with ELB style hunting bow like Pope and Young used then went to this style later. Lam bows are easier to build, use less materials and are relatively easy to figure weight before you start once you build a few. Plus the use of different materials changes performance too, for instance, making a heavy draw weight bow that is physically lighter, I, boo for core or the whole stack.
