I've had a few people try to register a new account after changing their e-mail address, presumably because they can no longer access their account after the change. You can change your e-mail address in your profile but if you do you must notify an Admin or a Mod, preferably before you make the change. The reason being that your account needs to be re-activated after the change before you can use it again.
