My first glass point

Howdy there feller knappers.
I am one of them guys that never really took interest in glass.
I tried once and couldn't help but to result to direct percussion.
That didn't go over too well, so I never tried again.
Too much pressure flaking bores me quick.

We'll last week I gave glass another go.
I refrained from any type of direct percussion.
It was a piece of glass that I found on the river.
Triangular with flat sides.
I used indirect (JC style) for the first pass then finished up with pressure flaking.

In the Point of the Month at the top, on page 52 is a point that Bob (Outbackbob) posted. It is red and looks like some that appeared at the Classic. It came from Alabama somewhere. Was wondering what state or area the red rock came from that you had. Looks to be the same type of rock. Just curious?

Man, I apologize Outback. I was wondering what you've been talking about and finally figured it out.
I thought all of those stickys were just rules and stuff, so I never really checked them out.
Wow! That point you made was just beautiful.
Great job! That raw citrinelle is some tough stuff and I have to say how impressed I am with your point.
I'm going to have to guess that it is some type of citrinelle style jasper.
We have many types of material that is just a bit different from everywhere else due to the layer in which it was formed.

Like Zumie said, it was all found on the Bogue Chitto river.
There's tons of gravel, but knappable types are tough to find.
What I sent you was all of what I found on a ten hour canoe trip three weeks ago.
