One of my longbows was in a photoshoot!
« on: May 19, 2014, 01:22:49 am »
Ok, I know it's not really a big deal, but I thought it was cool. I made a bow for a guy, and he sent me these awesome photos today. The bow is a hickory backed ipe 55 at 32. I believe he is out west in Colorado.

"The way of heaven is like the bending of a bow-
the upper part is pressed down,
the lower part is raised up,
the part that has too much is reduced,
the part that has too little is increased."

:) Thank you. Here's a couple cropped versions. The Archer's name is Michael by the way.

Too cool !!!!!  8) 8) 8)  Beautiful bow. Deserves to be highlighted. I dunno.. if he wasn't wearing a dress he'd look pretty mean. JUST KIDDING!  Really, I'd love to use some of these images for paintings reference. That is, if you have and they will let me.  Ron

Congrats, 2Many! That might make a good ad spot for you, with his permission.  ;)

Well done dude.  Beautiful bow, really suits his late 12th/early 13th century look.  Very accurate clothing as well - right down to cotehardie and chainse.  Boots are a bit Hollywoodised but heck, that bow looks perfect in those pics.  He must be a happy chappy!
