For this bow in among for around 40 to 45 pounds at 28 inches because it will be used for bow fishing I haven't made a bow this short in a while hope it turns out good my only worries are a few knots in what I will make the tip limb. 8) and so far I've gotten it to about to floor tiller so it will be ready for the real thing tomorrow.

Let's see a pic of the knots because usually knots don't matter at all just make it more difficult to chase a ring
I like osage

here is a pic of the only knot i am worried about i will make this the upper limb so it has a little stress but i think it will be fine if i leave some wood around it and the stave has been taken down to one growth ring

It looks from the pic that you have 2 rings of wood left proud over the knot??  If so take them down to the bows back ring before you start bending it.  They can pop off and cause a big mess otherwise.  The knot itself should be no biggie if you handle it correctly.

Shorten the long string a bit and it will give a better look at what is is really doing.  I have my long string just long enough to go N-N Other than that looks good so far.

here is some more pics the bow is basically finished i added juniper tip overlays my favorite color on osage. both limbs are bending evenly but the bottom limb is a little stiff in the outer parts because of a natural recurve in that part. i had to heat treat it because it was taking a little more set than i was comfortable even for a bow that is 61 inches ntn. all that's left to do is coats of poly, leather and a striker plate.

That's a beauty  :) The grip and tips really look cool. Nice looking bend too. If it shoots good i wouldn't do anything different  8)
