I love snakey stuff! That looks like a killer right there!
Your right Chris. I thought that's the one from the classic. Hmm...

I just got home from blackhawk . Took this stave down to show him . He loved it. But he loved it even more when I gave him the sister stave and one more stave from the same tree . Who know I may never make a bow out of this stave . But it will be cool to look at as a stave. Yeah right ....

I was looking at the one you gave me last year at the Classic just the other day, turtle. I haven't messed with it yet. I need to do as you were doing at the Classic last year and see what's under all those wrinkles and weather checks. Looking forward to seeing where this snake takes you.  ;)

That is a nice one.   :o :o

Good thoughts Chris, I can tell you from experience that them kind of staves need to be well seasoned,[not just dry]very easy for them to rupture if you try any bending or straightening on them until they are seasoned. Very cool piece of wood.

Yuppers pappy...let em sit,n take it easy on em...

Not sure if the one on the right will make it tho? It has that brittle punky brown osage all along one side of it..and I have had bad luck with that in osage  ??? There might be enough healthy stuff there once I get further down in rings, but it seemed to get worse the further I got under the bark n sap..so who knows till I go down more?  ??? Looks like it might go away and have a chance maybe as the color changes back to normal from viewing the end cut,but that doesn't mean its lime that further down the stave tho..
