« on: April 15, 2014, 07:14:32 pm »
finally got my new shootin iron.
32 caliber cap lock traditions crockett rifle.
the workmanship is better than I expected .
hopefully this will be as fun as squirrel hunting with the bow and lead to a few more in the stew pot.

Nice gun Kevin. I've read good things about them. Should put some meat in the pot.

Kevin,
Your really going to enjoy that 32 cal....there so much fun to shoot.  I few years back I made a "Tennessee Squirrel Rifle".  Shot a many squirrel with it.  Made it to resemble the common pioneer rife for small game, iron hardware, browned barrel, full cherry stock.  I don't hunt with it much anymore because my eyes will not let me focus on the rear, front sight and target at the same time.  been thinking about adding tang peep sight.

Your really going to enjoy it, have some fun and bust some squirrels!

See if you can patch a 00 buckshot pellet.  It is about .32 cal.  Order yourself a bag of chilled shot.  Can pop quite a few squirrels, and turkeys with them. ;)

Kevin - I had one of those a few Years ago - lots of FUN ! You might want to get a FG ram rod. I broke two wooden ones before getting smart  O:). Bob

FG ram rod is definitely a good idea for target shooting.

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?
