Woodland Osage
« on: April 04, 2014, 10:16:52 pm »
First stick in a few months. I have had this stave since last year had a touch of natural recurve to it so last week I got to whittiling! It is 66'' rectangular cross section came in at 53# @28" and shoots like a dream. The tiller may be a tad off,but after putting about a 100 bullets down range I can live with it. She bends slightly in the handle, which is hemp wrapped. The skins are ??? from Cip. via Tx As I said not perfect, but a shooter. She will go to Tenn. next month.

looks good. I like that style of bow myself, just a simple design but will get the job done if well made like this one appears to be.
I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.

The upper limb looks a little wonky but if it shoots well and doesn't have much shock shoot it.  ;)

Keith, looks like the local deer ought to be worried, that'll hunt right there. Is there anything that you DON'T do? 8)

I like it. I'm going to try and coax a woodland dogwood out of a twisted dogwood stave, it's going to be a learning experience one way or the other.

I like that style of bow.  All things considered, that simple stick will do anything that the fancier designs will do, and maybe do it just a little better than most.  Cool looking skins.
