holds up pretty good, don't think i'd use them where it rains all the time but heck it never rains here ::)

Sweet Bub. That bow may be the best work I've seen done with buckthorn, I know you earned that one chasing those bad rings off the back and man that thing does look a whole lot cleaner than it did when I sent it. You got good draw weight out of it too and I like the braced and drawn profiles, looks like it's a nice shooter. I handed Pearly a similar stave last summer that may have been a sister to that one, we'll have to see what he comes up with when he gets
up the gumption to start chasing rings on it. Of course he's just a youngster compared to you so chasing those rings will be much less work for him. ;)

Great job! I want to know how that buckthorn compares to Cascara?? Has anyone worked both woods? They are both buckthorns. Sure look the same. :)

thanks Donald, brian I haven't worked cascara yet so cant compare i'll have to get one from you and see, I did just weight it and with the rawhide, leather grip and the string it weighed 15 oz., so 62" ttt and 54#@ 28"i'm not sure how that works out mass wise, but the back is soft like yew and the belly works real easy with hand tools
