rawhide n' buckthorn

I just finished this up, rawhide backed buckthorn, 62"ttt and 54#@ 28", stave was a little wonky and I tried to match the reflex that was natural on the bottom limb but it came out twice so I figured it wasn't meant to be, I got the stave from badly bent thanks greg, she shoots nice and smooth and is pretty snappy, thanks for looking, bub

I thought I posted this pic, I used the rawhide because I noticed some dings in the back, this stuff is a bear to chase a ring on, stained the whole bow with golden oak stain and then used some walnut stain and a balled up plastic bag to get the pattern on the back, tips are mulberry, d-97 string 10 strands, buckthorn is a pretty wood and easy to work, as long as you're not chasing a ring :laugh: I want to thank greg for the stave she sure was worth the effort

I am working on a buckthorn with mulberry tips and sinew right now for the trade.

thanks dubes it is a pretty snappy wood , it had some pin knots on the back and one knot that opened up about 6" long running endo, I filled it with some epoxie and sawdust
yep it's shorts weather been in the hi 70s to mid 80s for several weeks, if I want to play in the snow its a 60 min drive
