Thanks for the compliments.  I really don't think it will affect the tiller much, if any.  The leather is pretty thin.

Ooooh! That's purty!  As far as finish goes, I've used spray poly and tru-oil to good effect.  With the rough scale texture of WDB's, I would suspect that a poly dip like pearly uses would be the ticket.  Although I haven't tried that method....yet anyway.  Whatever you use, be sure you don't rub or wipe it against the grain of the scales.  They'll stand right up on ya.  Josh
