Latest Knife Project
« on: February 11, 2014, 12:13:21 pm »
Here's some pictures of the latest knife I made.  Whitetail deer antler, triple-flow obsidian from a spall, deer rawhide wrap (colored with Sharpie pen and glued down with Titebond II), and pitch glue.  The finish over the antler is tung oil mixed with pine tar.  The signature and the rawhide wrap were coated with clear fingernail polish before I applied the tung oil/pine tar.

Very nice knife Patrick ! I like the coloring of the sinew that gives it a really cool touch. Superb work from a spall !

Thank you, thank you!

I've got a lot of flakes left over from the knapping of the blade.  I think I'll go make some arrowheads...   :)
