Mildly snakey little number
« on: January 04, 2014, 10:44:28 pm »
Haven't posted a bow in almost a year now, I thought I'd start the new year out with one I recently finished for a good friend. It's from a tree I cut back in '08 in my hometown in AR. It's the shortest rigid handled bow I've made at 58" NtN. I dressed her up in some rattler skins my father-in law sent me from out west. I've really been enjoying lighter weight bows recently and at 40# this bow is a pleasure to shoot but is more than enough to put meat on the table. Accuracy over power is my motto when it comes to long sits in the deer woods ;) I took a few pics of Chuck with his new bow this afternoon. Judging by the grin on his face I think he likes it :)

WOW!  NICE JOB!
Talking trees. What do trees have to talk about, hmm... except the consistency of squirrel droppings?

Man Will you sure have some skill with the snakey osage bows, this one is just as striking as the others you've made.
Beautiful bow, nice tips, skins, finish and looks deadly braced and drawn. Real fine bow!
I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.

Thanks fellers :) I think that bow fits Chuckie pretty good.

badly bent- thanks brotha, I've always been drawn to snake bows. I got one I'm about to get slicked up that's crazy! I just gotta get the right set of skins for it and I'll post it up. bTW you know your way around some curves yourself. That snakey fence post bow you made is beautiful!
