Another doe, plus bonus...
« on: November 18, 2013, 10:35:38 am »
Went to check out a new piece of farmland Saturday.  Still hunted-turned-spot-and-stalk for a while.  Found this doe and squirrel.  Down to one deer tag left for this zone to spend through the end of February.  Bout time to make up some rabbit arrows...

Your a killer!
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.

You were lucky on that tree rat, the heart is on the LEFT!  Do you seriously think you could have nocked another arrow fast enough if he had turned and charged you???   ;)

Hey!  I come from a bow wood desert.  No trees=no tree rats!  LOL!

The spirit of the post remains the same.  When hunting dangerous game like squirrels, protect your nutz!

Little hands in the air to surrender?!?!  Not likely!  It was stretching out it's talons going for poor Sweeney's throat.  It was life or death.

Hey... No foolin' with those squirrels.  When I was about twelve I thought I had killed a big fox squirrel after shooting him with a .410.   Went to pick him up and...he was not quite done.  If you have ever seen the old Tom and Jerry cartoons with the miniature bulldog that makes sausages out of Tom's arms and legs and tail........That really happens.  If one of those little fellows takes a hold of you, you can't turn him loose quickly enough.
