  ADB, the mass theory was more based on hunting weight bows, I have found on circular tillered bows it starts to wander off to the high side after about 70#, also as discussed in the book certain woods will tend to come in lighter, yew and cherry for instance. Your bow comes in at around 829 grams not allowing for yew wood if it is circular tillered. If I were to rewrite that chapter for heavier bows it would come in about 10% lighter. Tillering the bow for low set as you achieved will always overide predicted mass which is more of an estimated mass to arrive at close dementions anyway.

Daniel.  Your tiller for the materials and length used is spot on dead nuts and couldn't be any better....as others suggested there should be some wallop in that one....now whos gonna shoot it?

Steve glad to hear you say that about the mass theory stuff,as I have found the same n similar things with it....

Here's some finished pics. Came out just a bit over 110 lb at 28", and 140 lb or so at 32". I made sure to taper the core this time, it is probably close to 3/8" at center and tapers down a good bit to make sure there was more belly wood at the tips than core. The finish is tru oil, the arrow pass is a mother of pearl inlay dot. The unbraced picture is just after unstringing, after it sits a minute it goes back to straight with no set.

Every bow you post is better than the last.  Which is hard to do because the last few you posted have already been excellent :)  I'd love to have a go with that bow to see what kind of cast it has.  I bet it will really spit an arrow.

What tools do you use to taper your mid lams?  Sorry if I asked you that in the past.  My memory is not the greatest.

Normaly I don`t like English Long-/warbows with bamboo backing, but I this one I do.
