When I got the board the grain worried me to and I did consider backing it. But decided not to in the end.  I figured if it was well tillered and I made it a low draw weight it should be ok. It seemed to work.  I might upload some pics from the event later on if anyone wants to see them.

Spelled Frankenstein wrong on the bow though ;)

Cheers Will. Yeah I know im really upset about that but oh well.

Its funny as the compound archer asked if I would make him a bow now originally I declined but after he gave me a call and we got talking he said he would pay for it and the materials.  I also explained how they are different to compounds. In the end we decided on a "Robin Hood" style bow. So I guess this isn't my last bow.  :P

By Robin Hood I assume you mean a Mongolian/Hunnish style short reflex/deflex that he would have picked up during the Crusades, not a whacking great longbow which would be totally useless in woodland and forested areas right?

no i was thinking of a longbow. as ive only seen him with a R/D bow in the T.V show but in the movies he has a Longbow.

Common sense would suggest a longbow is ridiculous if you think about it.  But if the movies say it's a longbow then...

I know a guy that had a dream once that Robin used a quad-cammed compound crossbow with reverse mounted limbs, ...does that count?

BTW - Squirely, nice bow!  Your tiller looks good.  Nice job staying in the low weight ranges to keep the run-out grain from mattering quite as much.  Here's hoping she holds up for you!
