Got my meat
« on: October 13, 2013, 09:38:52 pm »
Hello fellas. This evening about 6:00 PM my eater passed by me.It was a button buck. There were does off on one side of me a good 50 yards and this button buck was off on the other side around 50 yards. So I was directly in between them so to speak.I doe bleated a little and he came on a lope straight at and by me to those does.As he was loping by I shot him.It was a fun shot to take.
I'll look for him tomorow morning. The mornings are in the lower 40s' so he should be fine. It's pretty dark in the woods right now.The shot felt and looked good through the boiler room or rib cage.Saw the shaft sink clear to the feathers in the vitals.Maybe just a scooch high.He ran just 40 to 50 feet when my arrow kicked out of him and he stopped and stood there at the place in the picture it shows the blood on the grass. He looked like a hurting unit. Then walked off into the woods down an embankment out of sight. Here's the arrow and the beginning of the blood trail. It's a pass through. All good signs he's down somewhere.

Yea me too Pat.We do have a healthy population of coyotes here. The weather here finally cooled off enough for a stuation like this to be done.Otherwise I would've looked for in the dark.I'm going to move this thread to the [shooting and hunting pics of 2013].
