My new bow doesn't hit my arm and the string doesn't stretch. I use b55 and my bows I can take it at brace and pull it down near the handle. They are all straight longbows and this new one was reflexed and took some string follow(about .5") do u get random bows that don't hit your arm or why wouldn't it?

Bow grip and where the string lays on the handle effects that.

I have been using B50 but plan on switching to fast flight. Which kind is better as there are several types.

If your previous strings had excessive twist. This can make them stretchier.

Not to hijack,but is there a real difference between B50 and B55?

No, not really. Both are made of the same material, which is polyester. I've used both and they seem to have  about the same amount of stretch...........Art

The only time I've had my string hit my forearm is if my brace height is too low. Probably just the way I shoot though.

If i start wrist slapping and the bow is ok in regards to string alignment then I am usually gripping the bow too tight.
This causes the bow to torque in the hand bringing the string closer to your forearm.

What PD said and let me add brace height to his mix. If the BH is too low the string will hit your arm. Jawge
