Pair of hickory snaky sisters
« on: October 09, 2013, 11:20:33 am »
Hello all.I meant to show these when made but did'nt have my digital camera yet.Pair of bows right next to each other in the trunk.Shag bark.Bark pulled off when wet leaving those ridged lines on the back.I gave em some light brown leather dye to highlight the ridges. They're 62.5" NTN.One 51#,the other 53# @ 28".Flipped tips.Flat broke in profile with a mild heat treatment giving them each about 2" of resting set back.Stout bows. Both of these are'nt working as much into the fades as my bows lately. They shoot great though and like my 45 to 50 spined arrows the best. Both center shot because of the wiggles.I left em pretty much bare bones.Fun to make and shoot. Thanks for looking.
Resting first.

And of course the money shot. Both are the same. They were fun to make and thanks for looking.Gues I could of had em working a little more to the handle but they are working up to the fade anyway.

Very good looking bows, Beadman!  I like the shot of seeing them side by side with the snake.

Me too Parnell. They are'nt very snaky but enough to get em to be center shot anyway.

Congrats on your new twins Ed!
