epitome of primitive(my randman trade bow)

Finally got back home to check out my trade bow!after seeing it I couldn't put it down and shot well into the night ,c/w head lamp!lol!it's a vine maple beauty with a natural gull wing profile 60#@ 28" of pure awesomeness!it throws heavy arrows flat as a pan cake out to 27yards and hit like a hammer!my bows hold no candle to this high performance "primitive weapon"!absolutely zero stack ,it pulls like a mid 50's bow,smooth as a babies bottom!deadly acurate(can you tell I'm in love?),beautiful tribal art work(didn't show up in the pics,yes tres cool) ,vine maple bark at the handle and tips!this definitely my new hunter bow!fantastic job randman ,you have all my admiration and WOW I couldn't be happier!!!!!!!!!!!!I could rant on and on and on........!thanks man you made my year!lol!

That is cool but it looks out of tiller. Bear in mind I have never done one but y is the tiller that off?

Dang it, son! here we go again. ::) The key words here is "I've never done one". The tiller is not off, look at the positioning of the hand grip compared to the center of the bow. The bottom limb is now shorter and is shorter. At least you're asking questions ;).

 Really nice looking bow and looks fast.

I took note of this bow back when Randman posted it on the Trade Bow thread. I thought that this was a great way of using Ocean Spray to get around the short straight sections. It makes a whole lot more OS staves useable. Randman, was there any particular problems with making a bow with the big swoop in the middle?

A properly tillered bow does not bring the limbs around into matching arcs. What a propper tiller does do is stress the same part of each limb equally. So allowing for each limb to have different front and side profiles, the tiller profile will also be diferent. When you can tiller a bow like that, thats when you have really mastered the craft.

@w/b 99 the bow is highly canted in the shot because that's how I shoot!

Ocean spray is pretty fun stuff, what an awesome way to use that big knotty bump in the middle!
