Now that was funny.  Not as funny as calling an entire community a bunch of wusses without ever posting a bow, character or straight, but funny.

It's like Deja vu ain't it Clint. ::)  Games up young man.  Unless you want to end up on the "don't feed the squirrels" list, please, follow Pearlies advice.  Josh

I like it all. I DON"T like knots that are gonna make the back fail. But I love snake. I love a character stave, and even love it more when it is a character bow, but I also love a nice clean perfect stave too. When I go cutting trees for bow wood, I definitely don't look for character "trees" though, :). Well sometimes I do if they got a lot of snake in the bark.
"The way of heaven is like the bending of a bow-
the upper part is pressed down,
the lower part is raised up,
the part that has too much is reduced,
the part that has too little is increased."

I do admire a well finished bow but for myself once they get shot and sealed I am done. I like the primitive homemade look. I used to rub mine down with motor oil to seal them. I figured it worked pretty good on all my hammers I use at work as a mechanic.

Lol! That's good to hear Clint!
Come on Wood_bandit!  I'm gettin kinda blue around the edges here!  I been holding my breath waiting for pics!  Lol!  Anybody else have a mental image of young mister bandit, in his backyard right now, just choppin the Hell out of one of his mom's prize ornamental flowering trees with a hatchet so he has something to take a picture of? :o >:D. Hehehe!  Come on Youngblood!  You can't just come out talking smack, calling everybody wussies, brag about your character bows, promise pics and then make us all wait! ???That ain't right! >:(  ;)  Why that's just plain rotten!  Lol!  Josh

i like a bow that shoots good, if a character bow shoots better than others so be it, but i'm not gonna use or make a bow just cuz it looks pretty...

What's friggin awesome is that a bow can shoot real good, be pretty, and just bursting at the seems with character.
Straight wood may make a better bow, but crooked wood makes a better bowyer

Everyone on here has lives, work, kids, school you name it. I personally have two young kids and a full time job and a small second job. In my free time i build bows and post pictures of them. Honestly, looking back when i was only in school and had a job, i wonder what i did with all my free time, life was easy back then. You already said you had some pics taken, presumably on the same computer you are using to post on this forum. It should take just a few clocks to get pictures posted.

I do believe I am hardcore. I only heat to get the string on the handle or to fix a deflexed limb.
But sometimes a nice straight stave is good. :) Jawge

:'(  don't be angry it ...only seems logical that if you already have pics you can post progress, let's see what you have sunshine ;)
