The J.O.B.
« on: August 14, 2013, 11:21:28 pm »
Named this one the job, because it's John's osage bow. ;) My friend John let's me hunt his place, sent me a text yesterday saying he spotted 2 ten points in the yard ;D ;D. Anyway, this is osage, 51.5" long, and 54#@26". Flipped the tips a little. Shoots like a rocket! First bow I've made in a long time, been to darn busy with work. This one's from a stave Most of my bows are board bows, but now have a few staves I need to get after.

Nice tat man, love the tiller on that bow. Thats the bend I'm always trying to get on my bows but never seem to nail
it like you did there. Thats a bow I'd like to shoot a few arrows thru.
I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.

That'll get the job done.

Like you, bows like this just get under your skin!   >:D

Wicked!! I would like to see more pics.  Looks like those working recurves pull near flat at full draw.  Am I seeing that right?  I am with Greg..I want to shoot that bow.

Good job Dave!

Thanks fellas!! I had one built for him before this one, but the wife's new dog thought it was a chew toy. >:( That dog almost had an "accident", and came up missing.

Carson, it's not really a recurve. The tips are flipped forward just a bit, and yes it's bending all the way till about 3" from the tip. I don't have any more pic, but maybe could take some when I get home from work later.

Sweet bend on that one, Dave!! :P
