you see a picture of a bow with some kind of ropes coming out of the knots in one of the limbs.

My question: How do you make those?

They are probably horse hair tassles and are attached to twig stems that were sticking out of the knots or you could drill out a pithy knot and add a piece of dowel to tie the horse hair to. .

I think I remember reading that that is how that bow was done

Thank you both for the info! Got exactly the same limb on a yew stave, so I will be trying this. Really like the looks.

Anyone know how they are called?
