points for piggies
« on: November 26, 2007, 06:39:41 pm »
I just picked up these points today and thought I'd share them with everybody.Awhile back I asked Claude VanOrder to make myself and Chris Cade up some hunting points for our Dec. hog hunt.I knap but I'm not as consistant as Claude.Probally why I have been learning from Claude the last 10 years or so.We wanted them all 2 3/4" long and 1" wide. They all weigh between 200 and 210 grains. Most of the material is raw coral,Texas chert and argilite.

Brian,His whole yard looks like a lithic artifact site.I watched him make one of the raw coral points in about 20 minutes.Started out with a flake he picked up off the ground, percussion beat it and finished up with pressure flaking ,while carrieing on a conversation.
