Ivy Bow

At a shoot today I saw an Ivy bow.
I am sorry to say I didn't get any pictures of it. It pulled around 40lbs or so, was maybe two inches wide and 60 inches long. It worked. It looked amazing.
Yet another bow wood that I would never have thought could work.

Mark, Are you talking about English Ivy? I've seen trunks big enough but never thought of it as bow wood.  Ya never know!   Pat

Yes, English Ivy, it is the only one we have here in England!
The bow was quiote massive, but quite light. I wouldn't say it spat the arrows out but it was adequate. The bacl was left as it was after the bark was removed. Amazing colour and texture. If you saw one in a film you would think it was fake!
