Being the catfisherman I am , I LOVE those skins. Cool idea.
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.

Sweet bow .
How did you degrease the flathead skin ? I've got the skins off a flathead and a spoonbill , I know the spoonbill will be worse than the flathead ( the spoonbill has a layer of fat under the skin ).

Can't be any greasier than beaver tail, I used warm water and Dawn dishwashing liquid on the beaver tail and it worked well.

I soaked them in water and dawn for about half an hour then scraped them clean with a butter knife then washed in dawn again and rinsed well. Then i glue em down. A few beads of oil came to the surface every day for about 3 days. I just kept wiping it off with a paper towel. I wiped them down lightly with acetone before applying finish.

That is just flat out COOL Steve!  I've often wondered if catfish skins would keep their color and pattern.  I wonder if channel cat skins would keep the spots?  Looks like I need to go fishin' !  It'll be a lucky dog that gets that bow!  Well done my friend!  Well done indeed !  Josh

Really like that bow in all respects, but its the handle that does it for me.  That handle is downright sexy, flows really nicely.
