Good Fun-Guilty Feeling (Caution-Graphic Pics of FG Bow(s)
« on: August 01, 2013, 09:39:02 pm »
SO...I'm at work and my wife texts me and says that she heard from the sister-in-law that there were two "inlaid" bows at the goodwill in blmgtn.  I thinks,  ???.  Drive the extra miles to town and find out they are laminated, not "inlaid", whatever that means anyway.  I really like the Bear and stroll around a bit thinking about it and I do some texting and whatnot and decide to buy the Bear. Not so cheap, but well worth it.  I get it home and clean it up, make a sting and put on a new hair rest and strike plate right after I PM a PA guy and ask him what he thinks. He gives me the low down on both bows.  Long story...I was out of beer and my kid was on the other side of town at a friends house. I went back to goodwill.  And Dang happy I did cuz that Damon/Howatt is a FUN bow to shoot.  It was January 2011 that I shot my last FG bow.  I figured I'd be able to trade the D/H, but the wife and Silas, that's Cooper in the pic, both love to shoot it, I do as well. Easy bow to shoot all day, accurate and fast out past 30 yards on targets. Anywho, thought I'd share.

Please don't judge me, I got the selfbow out today,  ;)  dpgratz

OO, it's been drilled out once. If I were to use it now I'd want a front loader style, old school ya know.  I did some bowfishin this summer w/ a 50# 3pc. PSI recurve and thought that was about as light as I wanted to go. I got a nice real I inherited on a 40# Martin/D/H amd liked the 50# better, but I know what your sayin, that baby is a bit used, but shoots like a winner.

Thanks for the replys friends, dp

The Bear Grizzly is a 1976 model. Shoots real good too, but the D/H, light as it may be, is a dang accurate bow with several different spine weight arrows.

I'd like to find those at our Goodwill Store. I bet that DH shoots like it's 50#.

YA know, it pulls like it's 35 and shoots like its 50. That's what I like about it.
