Sammy's new sapling bow
« on: July 28, 2013, 11:59:40 pm »
This ones for daughter #3 (of 4). Last bow I made for her was when she was around 12 yrs. old. She just recently finished college and is ready to shoot some arrows again and asked if I would make her a new bow. She shot it in
the backyard today and it suits her pretty well. She probably hasn't loosed an arrow in about 6 yrs but is planning
on going to the Elm Hall shoot with us and getting back into a little archery. Next weekend is gonna be fun.
The bow is from a buckthorn sapling of about 1 1/2" dia., 52" ntn and around low 30's # at 24" draw.
Finish is rubbed in earth pigments covered in many coats of tru oil.
Thanks for looking.
I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.

I always love your bows Greg.  Another beauty!

Thanks for the kind words guys, appreciate it.
Its pretty neat that the girls are coming back to what they used to enjoy when they were younger. This past year saw Sam's two older sisters also rekindled their interest in archery. Makes me pleased to see them having fun with some
arrows again.
