Rock for rock
« on: July 24, 2013, 09:03:12 pm »
A particular Dave sent me a box of rocks recently and asked me to see what I could make. I told him "would do my best..." So after heatin them a bit I hit on them to see how they would work. The (Burlington) and Georgetown worked the best. The dalton looks like rhyolite and it wasnt quite as easy to work.

I enjoy the challenge of trying different rocks to test my skills and broaden my experiences (unlike a certain "rock princess" I know)  ::)  :o  ;D

Great job Scott! Beautiful points. Scott you may be right about that grainy grey stuff being rhyolite..

Dave is that some of that stone I sent you a couple of years ago?

Cipriano, it might be, but I thought I turned all your rock to rubble. ;) I got a couple points from it, but they were all too fat, too small, and not very sharp. Pretty much use less for arrowheads.
