Can phenolic replace horn?
« on: November 20, 2007, 12:48:31 pm »
for those of us living in industrial areas that have the access, can 1/16th inch linen core phenolic board be used to replace horn on a Hungarian bow? I am able to attain a supply of the original military grade circa world war 2 stuff with a linen core.

I can't answer your question, but I would say try it on a minuture scale first. Also i would rate phenolic with fiberglass :o :o :o
traditional perhaps but not primitive

Everything happens for a reason, sometimes the reason is you made a bad decision.
