Awesome gift bow (hole) pic heavy
« on: June 23, 2013, 09:54:20 pm »
After almost three years of bow building  i had not built a bow I could hunt with. My uncle was getting tired of seeing me shoot f****glass so he built this beauty which I watched him work on and helped him shoot in (having no idea it was for me). Words cannot help me explain this to you any further so I will use pictures

When people ask "why didn't you do that the first time" you can be sure that they  have never made a bow before.

YB II forgot to add the stats. The bow is HHB, cut May 2012.  62" TTT, 60" NTN; 45# @ 24". Tips flipped w/ dry heat; 2" additional reflex added w/ Dry heat & most of it came out during tillering....'bout 1" reflex stays w/ the flipped tips. Skins are scraps of water moccasin. Stain is Laurel Moutain Forge  Lancaster Maple. Style & stain scheme heavily indebted to Gordon.....thank you, sir, for the inspiration.

Fantastic looking bow. Sure hope the grain runout across from the knot doesn't turn loose.

Maybe you could as your uncle to help you make a successful hunting bow.  He might really enjoy the quality time with his nephew and you with your uncle.

Now that there is a looker.  Nice job, John.  Love the look of skins on half the bow.

Nice uncles are good to have!   :)  Congrats on the nice bow.  Good luck hunting with it this fall.

That is a beauty!! I bet you were stoked we turned and handed it to you.
