Bamboo Ipe Glue Up Help

So I've got some ipe and bamboo that are ready for glue up and I've also got some JB Woodweld. My question is this, I see people wrapping the glue up with lots of plastic wrap? or something like that... would plastic wrap be fine with this? just interested in what I can do and what I should avoid to keep my amount of mistakes down to say.....zero? Not so sure that will happen but lets shoot for that ok?

Ok, so not sure how well this glue up is going to go, but if it isnt very good should i remove the bamboo and add another ipe strip?

Will i be able to remove the clamps after 3 hrs like the package says or should i wait longer?

It never hurts to wait longer.  Not sure about the glue you are using, but I always let mine sit overnight at the very least.  Might be too late for this advice, but hopefully you gave the joint a good rub down with isopropyl alcohol before glueing - ipe is a very oily wood and I have found that if it is not absolutely clean, it can affect the joint.  If the joint comes apart, the glue always sticks to the other wood, not the ipe. 

Keep wiping it until your cloth stops turning brown, and then wipe it some more

ok, i did wipe with isopropyl but the glue up didn't go as well as i had hoped, i now have a half bamboo backed ipe bow, the other half is not glued up because it delaminated... not sure what im going to do now, the first half that is ready to go looks like its pretty solid.

Thats sucks.  Were you making a take down bow? I have been using tb3 and have been having success with it.

How on earth did you manage to get a delamination when you didn't even stress the joint? There must be something terribly wrong in your set-up. I'm not having high hopes for the "good half". Pictures of your glue-up maybe?

Ill work on getting pics, i believe that the time to set had passed, it was 6 minutes before it set and i think i wrapped that limb a bit late...not sure if its salvageable but i sure would like to try...

If the glue has a working time of 6 minutes (I don't know that type of glue, please check for yourself) you need to use a different glue. I use titebond 3 (also for BBIs) which has enough working time, but even slightly short in high temp. and low humidity conditions in summer. I recommend a minimum working time of 15 minutes.
By the way, always put wet glue onto wet glue when laminating.

darksoul has it right, and of the three tight bonds 3 has the longest set time
