Bryce (Pinecone) Sinew Backed Yew Build Along
http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,36617.0.html

Here is what Bryce had say of his build:
Thought I might try a build along. Been a looooong time since I've done this type of bow so bare with me    Here we go. Tools: heat gun, coping saw, block sander, 5/8 chisel, nock file or chainsaw file, #49 rasp, micro plane rasp, tape measure, chalk line, cabinet scraper, hatchet, and of course a draw knife. Materials: Old Yew Stave  This is a piece of yew I got from a guy in Klamath Falls, OR who used to strip the bark for cancer research. It's about 8 yrs. old badly checked back, as it was left outside in the sun and weather for years. Free yew is Better then no yew  the heartwood is most likely still good for bow making

And there are seventeen pages of comments and pictures.  You really have to check the link out to appreciate the bow.

Here is what some forum members had to say:
Bryce, you did that gnarly piece of yew right!  Nice work Sir.  Thanks for allowing me the pleasure of loosing some arrows off of that string.      Carson

Congrats on the win Bryce. You and the bow desrve it.Beautiful bow.One question I did'nt read that was'nt asked. After putting on your sturgeon skin how long did you wait for it to dry before shooting it again? On sinewed bows I've done I'll wait two weeks sometimes if I feel I should depending on the backing used.
