Moontree Gang
« on: May 12, 2013, 09:09:18 pm »
I just finished up the osage bow that I brought to Moontree to get a tiller check from you guys.  Remember when I pulled it back to full draw? It popped and I think I pooped my pants a bit.  Blackhawk took it and superglued the splinter down that raised up.  After that I put about 3" of reflex into it and backed it with goat rawhide,  Retillered it and it lost a few pounds.  The finished specs are 66" ntn 45# @ 28", 1 5/8" at the fades and 7/16" at the tips.  Shot it the whole time at the Classic and shot the best I have in awhile, so decided to add some skins and 4 thin coats of true oil.
Thanks for the support................................. and for looking.

WOW!  I'm so glad that bow held together for you.  Man the bows and memories from our little gathering just keep coming.  I'm overwhelmed really.  It was so wonderful having all of you here.  How can I not do it again next spring.  Maybe, I'll actually work on a bow for more than 20 minutes (my choice) next year.

Great job finishing that one up Bill.  I think I pooped my pants to but it wasn't because of your bow  :o   Those skins look great.  It was nice seeing you again at the Classic.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left
