Light Hawthorn Bow
« on: May 05, 2013, 05:39:15 pm »
Sometimes a piece of wood won't give you the weight you want, which was the case in this bow so i had to make it lighter (O no!)  ::) it is around 55# @ 24," but it still shoots great. My smoothest bow besides the maple flatbow i made. I'm guessing it's around 58" ntn, i didn't spend too much time measuring the stats of this one tho lol. Only finish I did was to burnish it, and i'll keep doing that as i shoot it.

Good tiller on that one. I think now i see why you can pull those high weights, your shoulders are really working there.  Your frame looks too small at first but i guess not right?  ;) ;D

Thanks Muffin, well the thing that most people don't understand about 'BIG GUYS' is that most of their BIGNESS is from high fat percentage. So, say if i had 8-10% more fat, i would look bigger but still hold the same amount of strength. For example, my school has a workout room and i go in there every once a while. There's this highschooler i work out with who is 180 lb, but i bench more than him and match him in everything else. Weight has little to do with strength!

good job. your work has definitely improved since the first few bows you posted on here, tiller looks better and it has taken much less set then your earlier bows.

Great looking bow, that would be just my favourite drawweight! Probably suits my fat percentage...  ;D

Nice bow. You really did a good job bringing out the bow that was lurking  inside the tree.
