That is a beauty Ryan.  Can't wait to see what you do with your new love come fall.

the mono chord, the initial rune of fine art
The humanities grew out from archery as a flower from a seed
No sooner did the soft, sweet note of the bow-string charm the ear of genius than music was born, and from music came poetry and painting and..." Maurice Thompso

That's a fine looking bow Ryan.  I have gotten away from overlays and have been building really simple bows lately as well.  I like them like that.   That one looks like it will have a spot in the Shooting and Hunting Photos come fall, if I know you.  ;)

Just found your two bows in BOM May, I've missed both.
Great work of art, I like them both. Very elegant!

Nice bow dude.  I was working (slooowwwly) on a 56 incher for myself (hunting bow) and when I was weighing it last night it just exploded.  Never had it happen like that.  It was a freak thing I guess.  I will say this, after the bow failed, it was still strung (about half of the limb splintered out) and so I shot it just to see how much it could take.  It still pulled probably 40 pounds and did not crack any further.  Osage is the king.  Time to start over.  Best of luck to you this fall with your new beauty, look forward to seeing pics.
